COTA Track Day June 1st!

Just signed up for the Sat June 1st COTA track day!

I think I'm going to pass on this one.
For $460 you get eight twenty minute sessions, which means you get to ride for 2 hours and 40 minutes at most. That is if there are no wrecks, and there are always wrecks. On top of that there is usually no passing in the morning, only in the afternoon, which means for half the day you're just following other people around the track.

For now I'd rather put $150 into sessions at Harris Hill where you get a 4 hour time slot and you can ride as much as you want during that 4 hours. So it's not a World Class Formula 1 track, but you'll still have a blast

If you sign up for membership at Harris Hill it is $40/month, and they usually waive the January fee because nobody wants to ride then. Half day track sessions are only $80 for members, and they have weekend sessions twice a month. This is great value for money and highly recommended, I usually go once a month, and hope some of you other guys join up.

If we could get enough people together we could rent Harris Hill for half a day, and have a STDG track day

Well they cancelled the COTA track day any way. Hope I get my refund quickly.

Greg, that's a great idea. Can you talk to them and see how many riders we'd need?!

I don't think it is a question of how many people are needed, although there is a max of 20. It will probably involve a flat fee, that we will have to divide between us.

By the way they are having a track day on Christmas Eve if anyone is interested. The weather looks like it is going to be pretty good for a ride.
I'm already signed up, and hope some of you will join me. I'll ask Moira about the track rental when I see her tomorrow.

If they'd have a track day just for us perhaps we can enlist DucSA as well as getting participants if we need more people. Basically make it a "Ducati" day. Maybe even give ADOC a heads up. I think they've had 'track days' with Ducati Austin before haven't they? (Harris Hill)
