Yellow exclamation point error / Headlight turns off and on

I get the yellow light exclamation point every once in awhile and then the headlight turns off and on. It only does this when it gets hot in the afternoon. In the mornings the headlight stays on just fine and does not show the yellow light. I thought maybe it was the fan relay but it comes on just fine. Replaced the fuses. I'm at a loss here. The forums have claimed it might be the digital display unit. Not sure how much that will cost. Don't really feel like contacting the dealer.... I think my Ducati dreams have come to an end. Not sure when I will be able to meet up again.

Check this link, it looks like there might be a recall for the rectifier. If that is going bad then I could see why the lights are going off.

Thx for the reply. I already got the voltage regulator replaced a few months back. I was in Austin when the bike died on top of six street bridge. Duc Austin had to come and get it. It was still under Warr.
